Trainastic is an AI strength-coaching app. This page explains exactly what we store, why we store it, who else sees it, and how to have it removed. It is written from the app's actual database, not from a template.
Trainastic is operated as an independent project. For any privacy question, or to request access to or deletion of your data, email info@trainastic.com.
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Email address and a hashed password | To identify your account. Passwords are stored only as a bcrypt hash. |
| Your name, if you give one | So the coach can address you. |
| Experience level, preferred language | To pitch the programming and converse in your language. |
| Injuries, physical limitations, goals, equipment | Free-text notes the coach keeps so it can train around your body. See Health information below. |
| Saved workouts | So you can run them again. |
| Training history: duration, whether you finished, your rating and any notes you add | To program around what you have recently trained and avoid overloading a muscle group. |
| Your device type, app version, and when it was last seen | To send the right update prompts and diagnose problems specific to a build. |
| Your conversations with the coach: what you wrote or dictated, what it replied, and the workout it produced | To improve the coach and diagnose bad answers. This is the most sensitive thing we hold; see Retention. |
| Technical usage records of AI requests (sizes, timings, cost) | To monitor reliability and running costs. These contain no message content. |
| Usage records: which features you use and when, whether a workout was started, finished or saved, your app version, device model and a random identifier for your installation | To see which parts of the app actually get used and where they fail. These contain no workout content, no coach messages and no health notes. You can turn this off in the app under Profile → App → Privacy. |
We do notcollect advertising identifiers, we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we do not sell or share your data for advertising. We do measure how our own app and website are used, through an analytics service hosted in the EU that receives no advertising identifiers — see below.
The coach asks about injuries and physical limitations, and you may mention health details in conversation. In the EU/UK this counts as a special category of personal data, and we rely on your explicit consent, given by choosing to tell the coach, to store and use it.
We use it for one purpose only: adapting your workouts so they are safe for you. You can withdraw consent at any time by asking the coach to remove a note, editing your profile in the app, or emailing us. Trainastic is not a medical service and does not provide medical advice.
We use a small number of suppliers to run the service. They act on our instructions and may not use your data for their own purposes.
If you want the current list of named suppliers, ask us at info@trainastic.com and we will tell you.
You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@trainastic.com from the address on your account and we will action it within 30 days. There is a dedicated page describing deletion: Delete your data. Deleting your account also removes your profile from our analytics provider.
Separately, you can stop usage records being collected at any time without deleting anything: turn off Share anonymous usage data in the app under Profile → App → Privacy. Switching it off stops future collection; it does not by itself erase records already held, which you can request as above.
If you are in the EU/UK you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Passwords are stored only as bcrypt hashes. Administrative access to conversation data is restricted, requires a separate account from any app account, and every administrative change is logged.
Trainastic is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top and, where the change is significant, tell you in the app.
